As any other tourist place, Tulum offers a great variety of gastronomic options for all the tastes and budgets. That’s why we offer you this guide to know where the locals go, so you can know other aspect of this Magical town, and taste other delightful and accessible places.
To start your day, we recommend you our traditional “tacos de canasta” located at many streets downtown, the cost an average of 10 pesos a taco. If you want something more natural you can go to La Michoacana at the main street, there you can find fruit, juices and many kind of milkshakes. For a more complete breakfast you can visit el Bistro and Azafran who offer packages that include eggs, juice and coffee.
At the afternoon, you can enjoy a complete meal at “Tacoqueto” (better known as la Chiapas), for around 60 pesos you can enjoy a complete chiapaneco meal, that includes a glass of fresh fruit water. Not very far from there you can enjoy typical antojitos like empanadas, salbutes, sopes and huaraches for about 35 pesos per person. You can also go to the famous “Pollo Bornco” a place much visited by tourists and locals, it offers roasted chicken with rice, potato and beans. Another of the famous places visited by locals and tourist, and one great option for seafood is “El Camello Jr”, with very accessible prices, and delicious food; we recommend you to go early as the place gets packed, and sometimes have a long waiting time.
Finally for a casual dinner we have a big list of options for you, starting with the 24 hours open tortas, “tacos al pastor”, tamales in front of the Scottianbank branch. Everything is located at Tulum downtown.
